What distinguishes ALMA from Strofeld
Long-lastingALMA is a streaming loudspeaker at the cutting edge of technology that can be repaired and upgraded by the Strofeld service workshop at any time. Since the individual components are not glued or cast in moulds, they can be easily replaced and repaired. We see ALMA as an answer to loudspeaker products that are cast in plastic and designed with a limited lifespan. This way, you get a speaker without any predetermined breaking points and with a lifelong repair option.
RegionalALMA by Strofeld is a beautifully designed and durable product made of real solid wood, developed in Tyrol and also fairly produced there. We make our ALMA's to measure and not in bulk. As a Tyrolean manufacturer, we are not closed to the world, but we primarily want to sell our products regionally, in German-speaking countries.
SustainableIt was important to us to develop a loudspeaker made of natural solid wood that is easy to repair and produced locally. The ALMA solid wood body is manufactured in sheltered workshops in Tyrol, which create market-oriented jobs for people with disabilities in state-of-the-art production facilities. The wood for our ALMA comes from regional and sustainable forestry. We use minimal packaging and try to avoid plastic as much as possible. When you buy ALMA, you can choose not to have an integrated battery. Thanks to our Strofeld repair service, ALMA can be repaired for a lifetime at affordable prices. And if an ‘ALMA life’ does come to an end, nothing stands in the way of optimal recycling thanks to the modular design.

With the easy-to-mount pick-up bar, you can hang your ALMA speaker on the wall like a picture and take it down again. Our philosophy behind ALMA
When we designed our streaming speaker ALMA by Strofeld, we gave a lot of thought to the topic of sustainability. In our fast-paced world, we are setting an example with ALMA against the throwaway society and for sustainable quality. The idea, the concept, the raw materials for the ALMA housing, the production, the service – all of this comes from Tyrol or takes place here in Austria. We source the wood from controlled, sustainable forestry and have the solid wood case manufactured in the sheltered workshop in Vomp, an integrative company that provides a dignified workplace for people with disabilities. The final assembly and quality control are done by hand in our factory. ALMA comes without technical breaking points and therefore has no expiration date. As long as the STROFELD factory exists, we offer a lifelong low-cost repair service to replace or update ALMA components, even after the 5-year warranty has expired.
We want to fulfil our responsibility to people and the environment. We base our actions and decisions on this.

Radio, Bluetooth, WLAN or via cable?

With most loudspeakers, there is only one or the other. ALMA unites the two worlds and lets you decide how you want to enjoy your music. You can simply use ALMA as a Bluetooth speaker even without the app installation or connect it analogue via aux cable. If you fancy more functions, you can use the associated free app to quickly connect several ALMAs for multi-room streaming, receive radio stations from all over the world, set an alarm clock with your favourite song or adjust the sound if required.

The wooden body is manufactured in the ultra-modern production facilities of the sheltered workshops in Tyrol, which provide people with disabilities with a fair workplace. Final assembly and quality control are carried out by Strofeld's sound engineers. Thanks to its modular design, ALMA can be repaired and updated cost-effectively for a lifetime and therefore has no expiry date.

For even more detailed sound, create a stereo pair with 2 ALMAs in the same room via WLAN or group up to 12 ALMAs wirelessly throughout the house to listen to music anywhere. Control and setup via smartphone is child's play and offers many advantages.

With a maximum volume of more than 100 decibels, you can easily fill your ALMA with sound for a full-blown party. Give it a try 😉
No. We have deliberately decided against installing a microphone in ALMA. However, it is always possible to use ALMA as a high-quality speaker output for Alexa or Google Home devices by pairing the devices via cable or Bluetooth connection.
Yes, we offer inexpensive expansion units on request, which can be connected to existing loudspeakers (systems).
At present, we are not yet able to source the loudspeaker technology we use from regional or European production facilities. ALMA would simply be too expensive or equipped with technology that is too poor for our requirements. We are therefore dependent on the Asian market in this area for the time being. We will continue to search for European suppliers who fulfil our social, ecological and technical requirements.
Yes, you don't need an internet connection or to install an app to get ALMA up and running. Simply use the Bluetooth function or connect your playback devices via the analogue AUX input.
Technical
The battery life depends on the volume and type of music played. At room volume 20 to 25 hours and at maximum volume 6 to 8 hours. These are real data and may be tested 😉
Yes, download the free 4Stream app to your smartphone and set up each ALMA in your home Wi-Fi network. Now you can control each ALMA individually or form music groups.
Yes, by default ALMA plays your music as a stereo signal. Create a stereo pair with two ALMA speakers for even more detailed sound.
Sound and settings
ALMA has been personally tested by Jonathan Dornfeld using professional audio measurement technology and its sound has been perfected down to the smallest detail. Jonathan is the manufacturer's chief sound engineer and a luminary in his field. Over 150 loudspeaker developments and 18 years of experience ensure that ALMA sounds so outrageously good. His work is synonymous with faithful and detailed music reproduction.
Yes, you can use the 4Stream app to manually adjust the treble and bass (+-5 db) if required.
Repair & Warranty
ALMA was already designed in the design phase to ensure easy access to the electronics at all times. As long as STROFELD Manufaktur exists, we offer you the opportunity to repair or upgrade your ALMA at low cost.
First contact us at info@strofeld.com and describe your defect, preferably with pictures. If you cannot rectify the defect yourself, then pack your ALMA securely - if possible in the original packaging - and send the parcel back to our factory at Dreiheiligenstraße 21a in A-6020 Innsbruck. We will endeavour to get your ALMA back in working order as quickly and cost-effectively as possible.
If your ALMA can no longer be repaired due to serious (optical) damage, we offer you the option of installing the still-functioning speaker technology in a new enclosure at a reasonable price.
As long as STROFELD-Manufaktur exists, we will keep our products at the cutting edge of technology. Our software settings are updated automatically at regular intervals. If your ALMA is no longer compatible with your playback devices due to outdated hardware technology, an upgrade/replacement is easy to carry out thanks to the modular design.
